Unit 1

Unit 1:  Introduction to Biology, Chemistry and Cells

Welcome to Unit 1

Unit 1 is about building foundations for your study of Biology.  In this unit we will cover fundamental principles of life (what is it?  how are living things different from non-living things?) as well as some necessary chemistry basics (including atomic structure, bonding and polarity).  Next we dive into the molecules of cells - organic molecules like carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleotides.  FINALLY we get to cells - the fundamental unit of life!
